Parks & Trails in Penllyn Woods & throughout Lower Gwynedd
After a summer vacation, the series resumes in the Fall, beginning on September 11 @ 2 PM with a presentation on Lower Gwynedd Trails and how they are inter-connected throughout the township. This special program will be held at the Penllyn Woods building and trail area.
It has been said that the American Civil War was the first “modern war” in terms of technology and lethal weapons, but that it was simultaneously fought “at the end of the medical Middle Ages. “During mid-19th century America, very little was known about the causes of diseases, and there were no antibiotics, so infection was the most common cause of death for wounded soldiers. Battlefield surgeons were underqualified and field hospitals were understaffed and poorly supplied. The most common operation was amputation.

The Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale is held in the Community Room. There are thousands of books for sale for children, teens and adults. Proceeds benefit the library, and have provided many items and services including our NEW outdoor sign and wireless printer/copier.
