Designed both for writers who want to focus on traditional routes of publication and for those who want to preserve their stories for posterity (via self-publishing). Find your unique viewpoint that you have to offer. In-class writing assignments including exercises in mining your raw material; creating detailed concise prose -- either fact or fiction -- that brings the reader into the immediacy of your writing; how to assess the literary marketplace; find out what is written on your subject and what remains to be written; write a book outline/proposal; how to publish memoir and novel excerpts; how to contact agents, small presses and self-publishing options.
This series is 6 classes long: Fridays at 12:30 pm. October 2 to November 13. No class October 23.
