The Ambler Friends of the Wissahickon Valley Library will host a Bag sale starting Thursday, June 23 through Monday, June 27 or while supplies last! Fill a bag with books, DVDs, Audiobooks, CDs, & Records!

Plastic Bag fill up - $3   Friends Tote Bag fill up - $4 (includes tote bag!)

All proceeds benefit the Ambler Friends of the Library & help to provide programming, equipment, & other library needs!

A MIDSUMMER’S NIGHT at the Opera–“ SOME LIKE IT HOT!”
Don’t miss this intimate concert of tantalizing love duets from well-known operas such as Porgy and Bess, Manon, I Pagliacci, La Boheme, and Madame Butterfly by some of the Delaware Valley’s finest singers.  

The Delaware Valley Opera Company (DVOC) was founded in 1979 to give Delaware Valley singers an opportunity to perform in a professional company while keeping ticket prices low to offer opera to an ever expanding audience.  It has maintained this mission throughout its 37 years.  Currently, DVOC performs its Summer Festival (The Merry Wives of Windsor, Cosi fan tutte, and Lucia de Lammermoor) at the Venice Island Performing Arts and Recreation Center in Manayunk.

Calling all literary “foodies”- readers, writers, poets and speakers.  Share your thoughts with others over a glass of wine, your favorite pint and an appetizer or two.*

Let your mind bloom in May!  It's our "Lunch Hour" of Mindfulness and Compassion, a 6-week mini-course on Thursday afternoons.  This class is designed to give you the strategies to develop your own mindfulness practice.  Discover peace and well-being as you move through the program, with special attention to self-compassion.  In addition to her mindfulness practice, Ms Cullinan is a cranio sacral therapist, zero balancing instructor, and visceral manipulation practitioner.  

Class meets from 12:30 to 2 PM on 6 Thursdays, May 4, May 11, May 18, May 25, June 1 and June 8. 

This class is limited to 15 persons to maximize benefits for participants.  The course cost is $150 for the 6-week session.   Registration is at the Blue Bell circulation desk only.  Please sign-up with payment at the Circulation Desk by Wednesday, May 3.  Please make checks payable to Wissahickon Valley Public Library.
