Parenting a teenager is hard work for a parent or guardian, but with some direction and a few tips it can get easier.  Understanding, talking, and connecting to your teen can help lead to your success and a more meaningful relationship with your teen.  So stop taking your teen so seriously and come join Licensed Psychotherapist Andrew McGinley and learn the tools to navigate this difficult developmental stage.  Participants will learn:
1)    biological, psychological, and social connections at work during adolescence
2)    The benefits of progressive communication
3)    Practical and useful parenting strategies
 
Andrew McGinley is a licensed psychotherapist (LPC) in private practice who currently works with individuals, couples, and families, men, women, young adults, and children.  Using a psychodynamic approach, Andrew treats a variety of concerns including anxiety, trauma, bereavement, and parenting. Andrew’s aim is to facilitate his clients in understanding and overcoming their obstacles to having a good life.
Andrew is also a member of the Philadelphia Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology

Ambler Book Group: Orphan Train Guest Presenter

Orphan train : a novelDonna Nordmark Aviles, author and descendant of orphan train rider, Oliver Nordmark, will give a presentation on the orphan train movement.

This special presentation is free and open to book club members and the public. Due to seating limitations to accommodate book group members, patrons are asked to register for the event at the Ambler library or at 215-646-1072.

Ambler Book Group members will meet for a brief discussion of the book Orphan Train (Christina Baker Kline) at 1:00 pm. Our guest presenter will start at 1:30 pm.
