Is Anyone Listening? @ Ambler

Tuesday, October 10, 2017 - 6:30pm
Event location:
Ambler

America has become very polarized – people avoid conversations with those who hold different political viewpoints.  TV news programs with hosts and guests talking over one another have become the norm. We’ve stopped listening to others with different viewpoints. How do we heal the divides in our country, find common ground, and discuss our differences with respect and curiosity as opposed to anger and name-calling? Come join the conversation –learn how to listen so that others will talk.  Presented by Dale Goldberg, Ph.D.

Refreshments at 6:30 pm
Presentation at 7:00 pm

Say you'll be there! Stop by the Library, call 215-646-1072 to register.
This program is part of Tea and Scones, sponsored by the Friends of the Ambler Library!

Film Screening: "Food For Change"

Thursday, October 26, 2017 - 7:00pm
Event location:
Blue Bell

We are proud to partner with Weaver's Way Ambler for a film screening of  "Food For Change." This feature-length documentary tells the history of the co-op movement and food co-ops today.  The movie focuses on consumer food co-ops to tell the larger story of cooperatives — their role in American history and their current efforts to create local food systems.

Part of an educational series of programs in honor of Co-op Month, celebrated annually in October across the United States.   During Co-op Month,  Wissahickon Valley Public Library in Blue Bell and Ambler, and Upper Dublin Public Library will each host an educational event with Weavers Way to inspire community discussion about food systems, fair food access and cooperative solutions to chronic food-related inequities and other issues.

Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to learn more about co-ops and their value in on our community.  Please register HERE.
