About this Event
Join our library's Cook the Book Club in February when we read, discuss, and cook from Marcus Samuelsson’s new book The Rise: Black Cooks and the Soul of American Food.
Samuelsson’s acclaimed new cookbook is a tribute to black cooking and features his personal journey in cooking along with stories and recipes from dozens of black cooks, writers, and activists.
The Rise is an unforgettable feast of food, culture, and history to highlight the diverse deliciousness of Black cooking today.
Black Food Matters. “Black is not a taste. Or is it? It’s not monolithic, it’s complex, diverse, and delicious.” – Marcus Samuelsson
