Organizing for a Successful School Year!

Do you want to get this school year off to a great start? Do you want to be able to sustain this success throughout the course of the entire school year? Well, you are in luck because Crowne Education of Blue Bell will be offering a session free to the public at the Wissahickon Valley Public Library that will help middle school and high school students develop the organizational skills necessary to become successful students. This session will focus on note taking, organization, time management, active reading strategies, and speed reading strategies. The skills that will be taught during this session can be easily adapted to any class or curriculum that students will encounter at the high school and middle school levels. Come prepared to have fun and learn how to make this school year a successful one!

Author Jordan Sonnenblick is visiting WVPL! You probably know him best for his books Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie or Notes From the Midnigth Driver. He's visiting to talk about his writing, his inspiration, and answer your questions about writing or his books.

An Afternoon of Opera and American Songbook
Thursday, April 14 at 1:30 PM
Penllyn Woods Park, 1227 Township Line Road, Penllyn PA

This unique interactive concert combines music, opera and literature within the idyllic setting of one of Lower Gwynedd Township's most beautiful parks, Penllyn Woods. The performance features accomplished opera singer, soprano Iris Fairfax accompanied by pianist Gabriel Rebolla.  Both are performers with the Fort Washington-based opera company, Opera North, Inc. Ms. Fairfax will entertain and engage the audience through music and conversation. DIRECTIONS FROM LIBRARY  to Penllyn Woods:
Turn right from Library lot onto Route 73/Skippack Pike.  Make first left onto Penllyn-Blue Bell Pike (Blue Bell Inn intersection).  In 1 3/4 miles, make the first left after Lantern Lane onto Township Line Road. Follow the signs through the neighborhood to Penllyn Woods Community Building.  There is ample parking and the one-story building is handicap accessible.  Maps and directions to Penllyn Woods are available on the Township website at lowergwynedd.org.

Out of the Ordinary – Make an Unusual Pendant

Out of the Ordinary Pendant: Take shapes and ornamentation and put them together to make your own unique pendant. Neckwire included so you can wear your creation home. You will be using superglue, so no small children please. All supplies are provided free of charge.
