February 14 through April 10, 2024, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, by appointment only.

What is AARP Tax-Aide?

  • ·       The nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service.
  • ·       FREE FACE-TO-FACE tax assistance and preparation for federal, state and local taxes.
  • ·       Designed to help to low- and middle-income taxpayers, with attention to those age 50* and over, to file their personal income tax returns. (low/middle income is less than six figures).

Is there a cost for this service?
NO.  AARP Tax-Aide is offered for FREE. 

Who are the Tax-Aide preparers?

  • ·       They are IRS-certified volunteers.
  • ·       They are trained to assist in filing most normal returns:  the 1040 tax form and basic schedules.

Who qualifies for AARP Tax Aide services?

  • ·       *Age? Although it is designed for lower income seniors over 60, our AARP contact has allowed us to expand the services to those 50 and over.
  • ·       YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A MEMBER OF AARP
  • ·       Income limits? There are no income limits, however, taxpayers with complex tax returns are advised to seek paid tax assistance – such as rental property owners, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates or situations concerning depreciation.

What will WVPL do for this free Tax Aide Program?
WVPL at Blue Bell, 650 Skippack Pike, will be a Tax Aide site for 2024. 

When?  Every single Wednesday from February 14 through April 10, 2024 between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM. 

Is WVPL taking appointments? Yes.  Patrons may contact Danielle at 215-643-1320 or stop in to select an appointment time.   They will be asked to leave a name and phone number.  

Appointment timeslots are available every 45 minutes between 9:30-2:30 for each Wednesday. Danielle will be taking ALL appointments in order to properly distribute information to the patrons. 

What do patrons need to know?
- All persons scheduled for Tax Aide will need to receive packet of paperwork to fill out before their appointment, either mailed or picked up at the library.
- They must arrive on time or a few minutes before, with all required paperwork as listed in their information packets that they received when they made their appointment.
- Early appointments must enter through the rotunda door, near the flagpole; after 10AM it is OK to enter through the main entrance.
